LONG BIO:

Originally from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Austin Dixon has taken a non-traditional route into a country music career. He spent his late teens and early 20s pursuing an education in meteorology, first obtaining his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2017, then completing his master's in Atmospheric Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019. This pursuit was driven by a fascination with tornadoes, which began after a historic tornado outbreak in Oklahoma on May 3rd, 1999. Austin is now in the final year of his PhD in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma. 

 

While simultaneously completing a Ph.D. in Meteorology alongside building a respectable career in country music, to say Austin Dixon's journey has been common would be an insult to its intensity alone, never mind its intrigue. Nonetheless, a fully independent acquisition of 350,000+ followers and over 1.5 Million digital streams is by all accounts "respectable" at the very least. Since the release of his debut EP in 2023, Austin has garnered a 10-week run on Spotify's "Fresh Finds Country" Editorial, and two Top 40 Texas radio singles including 'Southern Town' and 'Broken Hearts in Texas'. 'Broken Hearts' spent 40 weeks on the radio charts and has amassed over half-a-million streams. In 2026, he was named a "Future Face of Texas Country" at the Texas Regional Radio Awards, a feat nearly impossible to come by for an Oklahoman. As one media outlet put it, "his music doesn't sound like Nashville, but it doesn't feel like Red Dirt either. It's somewhere perfectly in between." Honing in on what has become known as the 'Rocky Tonk' sound, Austin is coveted for his tasteful blend of smooth country tradition and rock and roll. ​

Austin has opened for several national acts including Treaty Oak Revival, Sam Barber, Muscadine Bloodline, Bryan Martin, Flatland Cavalry, Wade Bowen, Chancey Williams, Morgan Myles, Rhonda Vincent, Southall, and more.
